The Kings County Criminal Bar Association Andrew Rendeiro Mentorship Program

One of the KCCBA’s core missions is to provide professional development and mentorship assistance to our members engaged in the practice of criminal law.  With private and institutional defender organization attorneys, prosecutors, court attorneys, judges, and others working in diverse capacities throughout our justice system, the KCCBA has always sought to mentor and assist its members as they navigate the many challenges of our profession.  Past President Andrew Rendeiro, Esq. best embodied this effort, devoting an immeasurable amount of his time and energy over his long career to ensure that practitioners, whether just starting their careers or well established in their respective fields, received the support and guidance they needed no matter the capacity in which they served.  We honor Andy’s profound legacy by formalizing this program in his memory.

Mentorship requests vary widely.  Many attorneys in private practice are looking for opportunities to second-seat trials, to gain more trial experience and/or add to their qualifications for the Assigned Counsel Panel.  Others may be seeking advice on how to start or develop their businesses, or about different job opportunities within the court system.  Whatever the need, a member of the KCCBA mentorship program panel will attempt to assist.
